Lotus Temple is one of the most beautiful and remarkable architectures of Bahai faith.And its  located at Kalkaji in New Delhi completed in the year 1986. This Temple is most visiting place among all  visited monuments in India. The credit for this building was beautiful structure goes to the Persian architect Fariborz Sahba from Canada.This  temple was made of marble,cement,dolomite and sand and it looks like a lotus flower.It does not have any more  restrictions for visitors and is open to all religious. 

  This place provide us peace,environment for meditation and wisdom. Since then the temple has received recognition from all over the world for its splendid architecture and design.

   The main theme of lotus flower is which makes the flower an important icon in Indian culture and society.Lotus is symbol of purity,love,peace,immortality.Personifying Lotus in the temple does not merely mean giving a lotus shape to the edifice but it has a message to the people of India in the form of a manifestation from the almighty.  It is this particular specialty of Lotus flower which makes the flower an important icon in Indian culture and society. This is why the design of Lotus temple has been inspired by lotus flower.

The design  of temple was having 27 freestanding "petals" and  looks like a half opened Lotus flower made of marble stone. The architect, while constructing the temple took into account the everlasting beauty of Lotus flower.The entire construction of temple took near about 10 years and  finally it got shape  and also open for public. To construct entire temple took nearly 800 engineers, technicians, workers and artisans who worked diligently to give realization to one of the most beautiful place of the world. The temple combines the technology influence along with  aesthetic values within the whole structure of the lotus temple. It consists of 9 reflecting pools that encircle the temple from outside. Converting the geometry of the design took alot of effort and concentration from the  dedicated engineers that design did not have any straight line to the actual structure of the temple.

The temple have 9 doors those are open in central hall and  the capacity to accommodate approximately 2500 people. The complete temple design was made of white marble  so that adds the glory  to the temple. This is  about 40 meters tall enclosed by 9 ponds and looks as if the temple is floating like a Lotus flower in water.

From 1986 all over the world near about fifty millon pepole were visited the temple by its  
recognizationThe most value aspect of this particular designed masterpiece is the combination of the sparkling Indian history along with the modern engineering and architecture.
