The mining of diamonds also done here like Darya-e Nur, meaning 'sea of light', measuring 185 carats mined here.So many famous  diamonds—including the Kohinoor Diamond, Nur-Ul-Ain Diamond, the Hope Diamond, and the Regent Diamond were also mined there.

Golkonda also consists of  4 uniq and different forts with a 10 km long outer wall , 8 gateways, and 4 drawbridges.Among all these huge number of royal apartments & halls, temples, mosques, magazines, stables, etc.  were maintained inside. The lowest of these is the outermost enclosure into which we enter by the "Fateh Darwaza"  studded with giant iron spikes  near the south-western corner.
